Blue Moon Backpackers is a nice hostel on Havelock's main street. It is an old wooden house but it's kept nice and clean. Facilities include a good kitchen; a lounge room with internet access, a TV and fish tank and there is a lovely deck with a barbecue and a nice view of the marina. They also have good value bike hite ($10 half day, $20 full day).
