BUG Review
Somerset House is a homely place in Collingwood. It has large dorms with good made-up beds and polished floorboards. The clean fully-equipped kitchen has a large wooden table and TV; the bathrooms are clean and there is a nice balcony in the front with views of a church and the mountains, and the barbecue area is a good place for socialising. It is a cheerful little place with friendly staff.

This is a lovely, clean backpackers, on the hill above Collingwood. It is very quiet and peaceful. We were there in summer and ate our meals out on the spacious deck, looking out to the sea. The owner makes bread each day which he gives everyone (free) for breakfast. It is also very clean and tidy, and there is heaps of useful information about things to do in the area (walks, kayaking etc). Can't think of any negatives ... except that the bathroom is a bit old, not too bad though. There is also space to camp if you are tenting.
