BUG Review
The Barn consists of a main house and a campground near the entrance to the Abel Tasman National Park. The main hostel has a large dormitory with a row of queen-size mattresses laid out side-by-side on a long bunk. The kitchen is relatively clean but poorly maintained, although there is a camp kitchen on the other side of the property as well. It has a cosy veranda with couches and log fire, and an internet room with a few new computers. The bathrooms in the main house are newly renovated and very clean, while the rest of the house is a bit tired. There is a barbecue and laundry, and reception staff are knowledgeable and friendly. You can’t get closer to Abel Tasman, and this is a good choice if you don’t mind sleeping right next to ten other people.
