There is lavanda on your pillow. The owners enter, one after the other, the only one dorm to tell good-night. All of us 6 strangers chating and joking while in bed, under the moon glow. Us 6 again making music with the unnumerable cooking ustensils... We are just kids there as the sweet memories or image of summer holidays in a country house full of cousins... And you hug the owners when you leave as you feel as if leaving your uncle and anty. Such a kind place ! Ciao Karine

I have stayed at this hostel numerous times. It is small, quiet and relaxed. Just the thing after a heavy tramp. Hot water is plentiful, kitchen is excellent with large fridge, microwave. The dorm is spacious and well laid out with four beds and one bunk; there is a twin and double for those wanting more privacy (small tvs are in those rooms only). There is a front lounge that is comfortable and loaded with magazines. The ceiling is high-set giving a feeling of old charm and spaciousness. A garden at the back has chairs and a swing lounger for basking when the sun's out. Robin will pick you up from the bus depot, and Lynn keeps the tea, coffee and bickies available. There is a laundry and hills hoist. I always go back when travelling NZ.
