BUG Review
This dispiriting place on Kaitaia’s main street feels more like a low-rent lodging house than a hostel. It looks absolutely worn out from the outside, but is somewhat cleaner inside. Facilities include a common room with a pool table, a small TV room, and kitchen facilities that are not half bad. Still, overall, there’s just a stale feeling to the Hike & Bike Hostel, like the curtains haven’t been opened in years. This is the kind of place that lives up (or down) to Kaitaia’s dreary reputation.
