BUG Review
The Tree House Lodge is set in lush, flowery wilderness 2km from the car ferry. The wood house is owner-built, and the land surrounding it was cultivated – rescued, really – by the owners as well, as a restoration/conservation project that’s been going on for 27 years. These guys were eco-conscious before it was cool, and they’re very low-key about it. The lodge itself is a great, relaxing place to stay, with a lovely kitchen and a comfy reading nook filled with beanbag chairs and cushions. You can practically reach out the dorm window and grab limes off a tree. Walks in the area are magnificent, all the more so considering the unseen work that’s gone in to making the area so vital and abundant. This is a very special place.
