BUG Review
Globetrekkers is a very friendly, relaxed place overlooking the beautiful blue waters of Hokianga Harbour and the sand dunes on the opposite shore. Dorm rooms are simple but comfortable. The common room has a great atmosphere and is set up with a big telescope, chess set and good songs on the stereo, but no TV (the owners, Mike and Sue, have guests vote every year whether to get a TV, and the verdict is always against it). The kitchen is extremely sunny and airy, with big windows on two walls. An outdoor deck has a barbecue, and tables shaded by grape vines – as well as a simply gorgeous view. Guests have access to the swimming pool at the hotel next door.
