BUG Review
Sunseeker Lodge offers simple backpacker accommodation on a property high up on a hill with spectacular views of Whangaroa Harbour. Dorm rooms are set in a small house and are brightly painted in aqua and orange, but the bedding is very basic and thin. There’s a small common lounge with a fireplace and cheap internet access on a single PC. Other facilities include a guest kitchen and outdoor spa pool. There are pricier options, including motel units and a holiday house on the grounds, but the view is free and shared by everyone.
Price Dorm bed $22 ($18 BBH) Double room $65-75 Prices are in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.

A lovely place up in the hills. Sun shines in beautifully, great views over the harbour. It's very chilled out. Internet available at Auckland prices ($2 an hr).
Local town is nice for a visit, very relaxing and decent enough food available.
Go up to "the rock" for great views at sunset (it will take you about 30 mins from the hostel).
Laundry available, and a line. Shared with the adjoining motel.
TV and DVD. Everything you need. Great place to stay and explore places like Tauranga Bay and Matauri Bay.
