BUG Review
The Silver Fern is a very clean, well-maintained and totally antiseptic place. It’s going after the flashpackers aesthetic, with lots of steel and black, but it really misses the mark when it comes to atmosphere. This doesn’t feel like a hostel at all; it’s more like a business hotel. There is a TV room and a kitchen with a dining area, but neither is an inviting place to hang out. The quality of the mattresses and beds are quite good, and the kitchen has nice touches like a fish smoker and a dish steriliser; but the entire place shouldn’t be as sterile as the dishware.
