BUG Review
Nomads Capital is Nomads' New Zealand flagship "flashpackers" hostel. It is a really nice place that is clean and well maintained with a high standard of accommodation. Facilities include internet access near the 24-hour reception and a Wi-Fi connection (Global Gossip Connect); a TV lounge; laundry; a small, but fully-equipped kitchen and a courtyard area. Alcohol isn't allowed in the hostel, but the hostel runs its own bar next door (but it's not really an in-house bar as you have to go outside and enter off the street) where you can get a free evening meal every night between 6pm and 7pm every night. This no-alcohol rule combined with the fact that there are TVs in the rooms, means that this hostel doesn't have quite the atmosphere that it could have. However if you're willing to overlook this, it is an excellent hostel with the added bonus of Wellington's most central budget accommodation location.

the worst hostel i have ever stayed, May 12, 2008

the hostel was the worst i have ever stayed. because of the over-booking i could not stay in the room as i booked. i checked in around 2.00 pm. taking over 10min to check in, but there was no explanation about over-booking.

first day, i stayed in a downgraded room. i claimed about it and stayed in upgraded room on the second day, then charged extra. i also claimed about it but the accommodation just said 'we often have over-booking, but nobody has claimed about it'. i have got no apology about all the inconvenience by over-booking.

terrible servise provided by qualmark 5 stars.

Definitely recommend a stay here. Centrally located with nice, roomy dorms and good bathroom facilities. Shnazzy looking bar with lots of good deals (ex. Ladies night and happy hour) and delicious food. The kitchen is a bit small and the lounge area could use more places to sit, but overall, great. Staff is fabulous!

Great Hostel!!, March 15, 2006
Reviewer: asparna from Sweden

Pros: Great Classy Bar, friendly staff! Rooms were very clean.
Cons: They could use some more furniture in the common area

Had a great time in the bar especially Ladies Night on a Thursday where the girls can get free bubbles! Big dorm rooms with big beds didn't feel as though we were all jammed in. Great staff always friendly and helpfull. The common areas are a bit sparse they could do with some more furniture to make it feel a bit more homely. But movie night on a Sunday is a great idea especially when you have a hang over and just want to relax. Definately hit Nomads if you want to stay in a nice clean friendly place!
